On Thursday, January 11th, Congressman Darren Soto visited St. Cloud's City Commission and addressed the council members.
During his visit, Representative Soto sat in on a wonderful presentation by the Army Corps of Engineers about debris and muck removal to clean-up East Lake Toho. Rep. Soto also joined the members in congratulating Council Member Donald Shroyer for being named President of the Tri-County League of Cities.
Congressman Darren Soto visited the Good Samaritan Kissimmee Village to inspect the damage caused by Hurricane Irma. During his visit on January 5, 2018, Rep. Soto spoke with Village staff and was briefed on the strides made thus far in the repair efforts, as well as the long road ahead to full recovery.
Congressman Darren Soto visited the University of Central Florida's Hillel to engage students in a conversation at their final Shabbat of the semester. Rep. Soto spoke about his recent American Israel Education Foundation trip to Israel and the importance of the US-Israel relationship. The students were then able to engage in a lively Q&A session on issues ranging from net neutrality to topics affecting their communities. The Congressman also provided insights for what is to come next in this legislative session.
Congressman Darren Soto visited the Avon Park Air Force Range Headquaters this week and met with Lieutenant Colonel Daniel A. Edgar. During his visit, Rep. Soto toured the Range and learned how the officers train the warfighters and care for the facilitiy's 106,000 acres.
After the tour, Rep. Soto awarded Mr. Jose Ortiz and Mr. Robert Tricando with a Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition for their volunteer efforts in the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico after Hurricane Irma.
The Alzheimer's Association of Central/North Florida will be providing alzheimer's and other dementia-related resources and information. An Alzheimer's Association diversity outreach staff member will discuss their free programs, services, and care consultations for families offered in Spanish & English.

There will be a Mammogram Bus providing mammogram information, Doctors Aileen Caceres and Olga Ivanov answering questions, and the opportunity to discuss breast cancer with your Congressman!
Kissimmee, Florida – This Thursday, September 21, Central Florida Representatives will host a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recovery assistance event, where local FEMA coordinators will be available to answer aid-related questions and assist constituents in need of disaster relief due to the effects of Hurricane Irma. The event is open to the general public.

U.S. Representative Darren Soto (FL-09) had his second Military Academy Day.
Rep Soto said, "I heard amazing stories from a young Cadet at West Point and Midshipmen at Annapolis. Reps from Airforce Academy and Coast Guard spoke of their experiences as well. There were so many inspiring young people seeking these appointments. Our community should be proud!"
