Rep. Soto’s Statement on Administration Recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital
December 6, 2017
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Darren Soto released the following statement today following the Trump Administration's decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel:
"The United States has traditionally located our embassies in nations' capitals. Accordingly, our U.S. Embassy should ultimately be in Jerusalem, the Capital of Israel. I do remain concerned, though, about the timing and abrupt manner of this announcement. Over the long term, we must continue to be deeply committed to the peace process and a two-state solution for the Jewish and Palestinian peoples."
