Soto Statement on FCC Repeal of Net Neutrality Rules

November 22, 2017

Kissimmee, Florida U.S. Representative Darren Soto released the following statement after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai announced plans to dismantle net neutrality rules:

"Net neutrality is fundamental to protecting the first amendment in the internet age. Whether it is news content, individual blogs, e-commerce, or assuring innovation of small startups, net neutrality will be essential to safeguarding these politically and economically important online activities," stated Rep. Soto. "The FCC's decision to repeal key regulations for equal and open access to the internet will ultimately only hurt consumers. I urge my colleagues to work in a bipartisan manner to protect American's internet freedom."
