Representative Darren Soto voted "NO" on a Continuing Budget Resolution in order to push Congress to work swiftly to resolve unfinished legislative business. The measure ultimately passed the House by a vote of 235-193 and the Senate by 81-14 on December 7, 2017.

House Republicans have solely focused on passing a Tax Reform bill, at the expense of other important issues. Rep. Soto urges colleagues to come to the negotiating table and address six priorities:

  • SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program) Florida KidCare

  • DREAM Act

  • Hurricane Disaster Relief for Florida, Puerto Rico & Texas

  • Flood Insurance Program

  • FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)

  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Extension for Haitians and Central Americans

"We must get the job done on these critical priorities!" - Rep. Darren Soto
