Dear neighbor,

Our fellow Floridians in the Panhandle and Big Bend just faced one of the strongest Hurricanes our state has witnessed in decades. There are over 400,000 people without power, massive property damage, and communication services are still down. Over 8,400 people are in shelters, and that number is expected to increase today.

Dear Central Floridians,

Like you, I am concerned about a possible government shutdown and what this means for our country. Please know that I do not take this lightly. We need bipartisan solutions for Congress to work, not a dysfunctional blame-game that jeopardizes American lives.

One of the best things about representing Central Florida is the opportunities I get to learn about the amazing, innovative things people in our area are doing. I just toured Costa Farms, Gapway Groves, Agri-Starts, and the University of Florida IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center. The first two have a lot of hard-working growers, and the last two have brilliant scientists. Together, they’re helping feed the country and beautify our gardens.
