WASHINGTON –– U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin's (MI-08) bipartisan Strengthening America's Strategic National Stockpile Act, passed the U.S. House of Representatives with unanimous, bipartisan support on Monday. Slotkin's legislation, which she introduced with Rep. Susan W. Brooks (R-IN), would reduce America's dependence on foreign sources of critical medical supplies the country needs to fight COVID-19 by making much-needed improvements and updates to America's Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), and boosting domestic manufacturing of those supplies here in America.

KISSIMMEE, FL - Today, Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) led Members of the Florida Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis requesting he immediately release the remaining CARES Act federal dollars in the Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) to all Florida counties, cities and towns. The letter comes after Osceola County reported it is waiting on $50 million in CRF. The State of Florida is currently holding millions in CARES Act funds which should be transferred to Osceola and other counties and cities with under 500,000 residents.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -Today, Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09), the first Puerto Rican from Florida elected to Congress, introduced a bipartisan House Resolution that would support Puerto Rico's plebiscite results and call upon Congress and the President to take action in 2021 if Puerto Ricans vote for statehood. The plebiscite, which is scheduled to take place on November 3rd, will give the people of Puerto Rico the opportunity to vote for statehood or independence.
