The legislation designates Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), protecting approximately 200,000 Venezuelan nationals in the United States from deportation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) co-led a letter with Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) to Chairman Frank Pallone requesting the House Committee on Energy and Commerce investigate possible irregularities in the State of Florida's daily COVID-19 death tally. The letter comes after it was reported that a possible inconsistent pattern in the calculation of deaths emerged before the general election.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Conference Report to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021, which includes two amendments introduced by Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09). H.R. 6395 authorizes $732 billion in discretionary spending for our national defense and sets policy for defense-related activities for Fiscal Year 2021.

The State of Florida is currently holding millions in CARES Act funds which should be transferred to counties and cities with under 500,000 residents.
